After another closely contested season of Football Tipping Mark Juricskay has taken out the major prize by a solitary tip from Kieran Wall. Going into the last round tied together on 115 it was Mark who managed to go one better than Kieran in a tough round of tipping to finish on 120 and secure the $600 prize. Kieran however doesn't go away empty handed receiving $200 while Liam Quinsee, who finished 2 points behind in third on 118, gets $150 for his troubles.

Very sad to report of the death of past student Peter McMahon '57 at the age of 71. Peter was a very proud and devoted old boy and did an enormous amount of work for the College as Chairman of the College Board from 1998 - 2008. During that time he oversaw the great growth of the College facilities with the building of the Auditorium, the Hockey / Tennis complex, the Year 12 and Year 7 complexes and the indoor Pool and Gym facility. In addition the College purchased the campus at Santa Monica, Lorne for the Year 9 program. Peter fought a courageous battle against cancer for a number of years and leaves behind his wife Maria and children Sarah, Kate, Emily, Rebecca and Patrick, a past student from the class of 2001.

Murphy’s Lore. A history of St Bernard’s College as told by those who were there.
Seventy years in the making, this book celebrates the story of St Bernard’s College from its inception at Moonee Ponds, where it was built on the site of a vegetable patch behind the Christian Brothers’ house. The book is told through eyewitness accounts of those who were there: the students, the Brothers, the lay teachers, the mothers. It’s a unique glance into a very personal history: the highs and the lows, the successes and the failures, the pranks, the anecdotes and all the rich history of one of Melbourne’s proudest secondary schools.

/sboca_files/images/news/10th_Annual_Golf_Day_front.jpg
The 10th Annual Old Collegian’s Golf Day was held on October 23 under perfect blue skies at Medway Golf Course. A record 33 teams lined up for this years event, each of them hoping to get their hands on the much coveted trophy, not to mention the bragging rights that went along with it. Competition was fierce, some teams having driving trouble not only off the tee but with their golf carts as well, but ultimately it was the team of Ben Hogan, Ben Harries, Damian Fewster and Michael Stapleton that took home the prize. Congratulations to them and to all the participants who made the day another outstanding success. Check the photo gallery for photos of the day. Don't forget you can 'tag' photos of yourself in the gallery!
